Audio of September 18 Five O’Clock Worshiping Community Meeting with Q&A

The Five O’Clock community at the Advent gathers for worship every Sunday at 5 pm. The Five O’Clock is in keeping with the ethos of the Advent’s morning services while in a more informal environment. Our worship services are a modern expression of traditional Anglican liturgy based on our historic Book of Common Prayer with regular Holy Communion and occasional services of Evening Prayer. The music is primarily hymnody set to updated musical arrangements, accessible and fresh for today’s ears, with a band leading congregational singing.

Matt Schneider, Pastor

We meet in the Nave at the Cathedral Church of the Advent downtown on the corner of 6th Avenue North and 20th Street. Worship lasts approximately one hour with a brief time for fellowship and periodic suppers following worship. Nursery care is provided upstairs for small children during the service, but children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to join us for worship.

The pastor of the Five O’Clock is Matt Schneider, the Advent’s Canon for Parish Life & Evangelism. Our other staff members dedicated to this community are Zac Hicks, the Advent’s Canon for Liturgy and Worship, and Brandon Bennett, the Advent’s Young Adult & College Minister. For more information about this community, please contact Matt@CathedralAdvent.com or 205.226.3502.
